Fire Pit Covers
In this section, we will look at the major attributes of each of the three lines of fire pit covers. Before we start, we want to make one important note: Be sure that your fire pit is extinguished and cool before covering! These covers are not fireproof, and can easily catch on fire or otherwise be damaged by prematurely placing the cover on the fire pit.
Classic Accessories Ravenna – The Best Fire Pit Covers Available
The Ravenna Covers are awesome. Their primary outstanding feature is their lifetime warranty, which is impossible to beat. They are generally the most expensive covers out there, but the lifetime warranty is such a huge step up from anything else, these are definitely the best choice when available. They also look great, and have a very nice feature set.
The Ravenna line comes in a very attractive taupe gray color, which looks elegant, but also makes the covered object recede into the background, so that it doesn’t stand out too much. These covers feature a two layer design, with an outer woven layer of Polyester Gardelle One fabric, UV Protected against fading and discoloration.
The inner layer is made of laminated fabric, and is designed to be as water resistant as possible. Classic Accessories considers the Ravenna covers to be water resistant, though for most environments, these covers will be largely water proof. It’s possible water could get in, in some circumstances, but such events are rare.
The Ravenna line uses a bottom cinch cord design, as shown here. These cords can be pulled tight around the fire pit in order to secure the cover as well as possible to the fire pit.
Additionally, Classic Accessories supplies a patented Wind-Lock click-close system of belts (think seat belt locks) that add more grip to the covers. The combination of these two systems ensures that the cover will hold tight to your fire pit table, even in harsh conditions.
As we mentioned above, the warranty is the shining star of the Classic Accessories Ravenna line. The warranty is a limited lifetime warranty, which far outstrips the competition. Be sure to keep an eye out on your cover, since the warranty protects the cover, not the fire pit! Don’t wait for the cover to rip and ruin the fire pit before you contact Classic Accessories! If you notice issues with the cover, contact Classic Accessories for a replacement before the cover fails.
All Classic Accessories Ravenna covers come with high quality handles, which are a big help in getting the cover properly situated on the fire pit table, especially in the case of a larger table.
These covers also include protected wind vents — essentially pockets with mesh inside, designed to allow air to flow through the cover, but also designed to prevent water infiltration through the vents. These help keep air moving around the fire pit, preventing water from pooling inside, mildew from forming, etc. They also help keep the cover from billowing in a strong breeze, or from blowing away when the winds really gust.
Classic Accessories Ravenna Sizes and Configurations
Here’s a table showing each of the sizes Classic Accessories sells in the Ravenna line, and and the price of each. Note: some covers are not designed to cover all the way down the legs, while others are. Pay attention to the images to identify how the cover sits on a typical fire pit.

Classic Accessories Veranda Fire Pit Table Covers
The Classic Accessories Veranda line of covers is a step down in quality, and in price, from the Ravenna covers. That said, they are still very high quality covers, and are protected under a three year warranty — very respectable!
The fabric Classic Accessories uses for the Veranda line of covers is woven Gardelle fabric, but the outer layer is not UV protected against fading. If users want to beef up their covers a bit, consider getting a UV protectant spray [Amazon Link] to apply to the covers from time to time. The inner layer is the same laminated backing layer, and is water resistant. Like the Ravenna covers, the Veranda covers are considered water resistant, not water proof, though in most cases the covers will prevent any water from infiltrating through the cover.
The two-tone brown design looks decent enough, but it’s not as attractive as either the Ravenna line or the darker shade of the AmazonBasics line.
The Veranda line is very similar to the Ravenna line in the way that it attaches to the object it covers. The first method is a cinch mechanisms, an elastic cord that runs along the bottom of the cover, and which can be tightened as needed to secure the cover to the fire pit.
The second method of securing the cover to the fire table is the buckle system. Integrated into the cover are buckles (think seat belt style buckles) that allow the cover to be secured around the legs, or in important locations, on the fire pit. These two systems work in conjunction to ensure that the cover stays on the fire pit, and doesn’t blow away just when it’s needed most!
The warranty on the Classic Accessories Veranda line of covers is solid, at three years. This is a big step down from the Lifetime warranty of the Ravenna covers, but if you feel that your fire pit itself will only last 3-5 years, it may make sense to not spend the extra money on the Ravenna cover.
Like the Ravenna covers, the Veranda line offers integrated handles that help maneuver the cover onto the fire pit. Also provided are air vents in pockets, which are designed to allow air to flow through the cover, but prevent water from getting in. These vents will also prevent the cover from billowing in a significant wind, and from blowing away when it really starts to howl.
Classic Accessories Veranda Sizes And Configurations
The Classic Accessories Veranda line of fire pit and fire table covers has a wide variety of sizes and configurations available, in primarily square and round configurations. Some of these designs cover the unit completely, while other ones only cover the top fire bowl portion of the fire pit, leaving the legs exposed. For clarity as to how an individual cover works, see the image associated with that cover.

AmazonBasics Fire Pit Covers
The AmazonBasics line of fire pit covers is made by Amazon, and is, well, pretty basic. There are fewer sizes to choose from among these covers, and there are (oddly) two different looks, depending on the size of the cover. Some feature a two-tone brown color, similar to the CA Veranda line, while others feature a dark blackish color, which is much more attractive.
These covers are pretty fully featured, and are relatively inexpensive. However, they are only covered under a one year warranty, which is a downer.
The fabric design on the AmazonBasics covers comes in two different looks, depending on the size and configuration. Some of the units come in a two-tone tan fabric design, which doesn’t look great to our eyes. Other sizes come in a dark charcoal black color, which looks much nicer to us, and has good styling while also making the object recede from view.
Like the other covers on our list, this cover line features a two-layer design, starting with a woven polyester outer laye. AmazonBasics does not specify whether these are UV Protected, but we believe they are. However, it may still be wise to pick up a UV Protection Spray [Amazon Link] to help protect against fading.
The water resistant inner layer is designed to repel water, and while Amazon doesn’t claim that these are water proof, they do seem to be largely water proof in practice.
The AmazonBasics line of covers features a single mechanism for securing the cover, an elastic strap. This can be effective, but if your cover doesn’t fit your fire pit that well, the elastic cinch may be ineffective. The lack of a buckle mechanism is unfortunate, and certainly one of the ways Amazon keeps the price on these covers down.
The AmazonBasics line of covers is only protected under a one year warranty, which is not nothing, but is noticeably worse than the other cover lines we have discussed today. For those who have relatively disposable fire pits and fire tables, a one year cover warranty may make sense — save the money for the next fire pit — but beyond that, we feel it is wiser to spend more money on the cover, and help your fire pit last for several years!
Like the other covers on our list, the AmazonBasics line has integrated air vents designed inside pockets. These allow air to flow through the cover, preventing billowing and lofting, and also help keep moisture away from the fire table while it is covered.
Additionally, these covers have handles to help maneuver the cover onto the fire pit or fire table in the best possible way.
AmazonBasics Fire Table Covers Sizes and Configurations
This chart shows the sizes and configurations of the AmazonBasics covers. To make things more confusing, Amazon chooses to list the sizes of these covers on its site based on the size of the recommended fire pit, not the size of the cover itself. For example, if a cover is 60″, and designed to fit a 58″ fire pit, Amazon will call it a 58″ cover, as opposed to a 60″ cover. For this chart, we have used the size of the cover itself, in keeping with the way Classic Accessories does their cover sizing.
|Cover Type||Length||Width||Height||Price on Amazon|
|44"||15"||Out of stock|
We hope that with the aid of these three tables, and the information provided in this article, you can find the best fire pit cover or fire table cover for your needs. As we have said, we feel the Ravenna line by Classic Accessories is by far the best, and is worth paying extra for, given the lifetime warranty. However, the Veranda and AmazonBasics lines both have their positive attributes as well, and if either seems more right for your needs, we encourage you to go for it!
