It’s big enough to hold two bikes comfortably (for example, two 29ers), and a perhaps a small third bike or a couple of children’s bikes as well, depending on their scale. As always, check the dimensions of your bike against the dimensions shown to ensure a good fit.
The door unzips to create a large opening, making placement and removal of the bikes pretty easy. However, users should note that there is a door only on one side.
When bikes are inside, there’s little risk of this tent blowing away. But for the times that it is empty, YardStash includes a back Velcro panel that’s designed to be tied to a fence or pole for extra security, and stakes to attach the tent to the ground.

The Details
The Suncast BMS4700 is a great resin plastic bike storage shed. It’s made from durable double-wall resin, a material that not only protects your bikes from adverse weather but looks good too! The elegant dual-tone design and molded panels give a nice fit and finish. The multi-wall panels have been engineered for both stability and strength too, and are quite stable.
Bicycle Storage
The Suncast BMS4700 could hold up to three large bikes (though check those 29ers to make sure they aren’t too long), or perhaps two adult bikes and two children’s bikes. If you really wanted to pile them in, it is conceivable that this shed could even hold a bit more than that, if you swap the direction of the bikes as you pile them in. To confirm the fit, measure your bikes and compare against the dimensions.
The doors open wide, so getting the bikes in and out is pretty simple.
Theft Risk
There is a hasp for a lock on the lid, which enables a padlock or similar lock to secure both doors and the lid together. The padlock is not included, but the ability to fully secure your bikes is present.
The risk of theft in the BMS4700 is much lower than the YardStash IV. Of course, it is still true that an enterprising thief with a good box cutter could cut right through these resin plastic panels and get access to the contents, so it’s not inconceivable that theft could occur, but it’s much more difficult to do that than it would be to cut through the YardStash’s canvas.
Assembly and Maintenance
Assembly of this bike storage shed isn’t particularly difficult, but ideally, you do want two people to make life easier. For full assembly instructions click here. It’s definitely best to partially tighten all the screws when assembling this shed, and then go around for a second round and tighten everything up. This way, you won’t have to worry about misaligned panels or holes.
The BMS4700 shed also very low maintenance. It won’t rust, fade, rot, crack, or otherwise degrade in the weather. To clean, simply hose down or wipe over with a wet cloth as and when needed.
The Bottom Line: A High-Quality Bike Shed for Four Bikes
The BMS4700 horizontal plastic bike shed is more than big enough to fit three adult-sized bikes and possibly still have room left over for accessories. It’s built with heavy-duty materials and should last a good few years, and looks great in any outdoor space. While it’s fairly obvious that the BMS4700 is more stable than the YardStash IV, it’s also more difficult to move around once assembled. You’ll also pay a lot for more for this model too.
The bottom line is for the amount of money you’ll need to spend on this bike storage shed you could get two of the YardStash IV and still have money left over for dinner, but if you seek security and a more permanent storage shed, the BMS4700 is a great option.

3. Bosmere WS1881H Rowlinson Wallstore Wooden Outdoor Lockable Storage Unit
The Bosmere WS1881H Rowlinson Wooden outdoor lockable storage unit is a large horizontal storage shed made of shiplap pine. This shed has an inoperable roof but provides fairly capable bike storage capacity. The Bosmere Rawlinson bike storage shed is rather expensive, but it is made of real wood, which many really love. That said, the wood is a bit on the thin side, and as with all wooden storage sheds, requires regular maintenance.

The Details
In terms of looks, this is one of the nicer looking bike storage sheds out there. The dipped honey brown finish will complement just about anyone’s garden space, and the mineral felt roof keeps helps keep the rain out, however in practice water manages to penetrate through some exposed areas of the shiplap, or other small openings. Typically this will not harm bicycles inside, though.
This bike storage shed is made from 1/2″ shiplap pine cladding, so could be a little thicker, but does the job of forming the walls acceptably well.
Bike Storage
The Bosmere Rowlinson shed is a little smaller than the BMS4700, and can fit two large bikes, and probably one or two smaller bikes as well. Large 29ers may be too long to fit in this shed without partially angling them, or removing a wheel, which is a drag, so be sure to check the dimensions of your bikes against this shed to ensure a good fit.
The doors open fairly wide, but there is a lip on each end that makes getting bikes in and out a little bit more difficult than the other sheds on our list. The larger the bike, the more difficult it will be to get it in and out.
Theft Risk
Of the three sheds we are looking at today, this one has the lowest theft risk. It can’t be accessed with an Exacto knife or box cutter, and would need bolt cutters or a sledgehammer to get inside.
There are fully lockable double doors to ensure security, and the doors open fairly wide to allow for bikes to be easily accessed, but as we mentioned above, getting big bikes in and out can be a hassle.
Assembly and Maintenance

The timber itself has been pressure treated to maximize its lifespan but can easily be painted if you wanted a different look, and you should be prepared to re-apply the finish once every year or so to ensure the finish looks nice.
The Bottom Line: A Decent Cycle Storage Shed
The Bosmere WS118H Rowlinson bike shed looks great and is of a decent size, but in terms of quality, it leaves a lot to be desired. Considering it’s made from real wood you would expect it to be quite sturdy, but is disappointingly flimsy. It also may struggle to fit some of the larger bikes common today, and getting large bikes in and out is difficult as well.
Overall, we would suggest this shed only to those who love the look of wood, and who don’t have or plan to get particularly large bikes.

In terms of value for money, you just can’t beat the YardStash IV bike storage tent.
