The DC America Fantasy set of slingback patio chairs is made of heavy duty powder coated steel, with coloration dependent on fabric color. In the case of the Dark Brown chairs, the powder coating is dark brown as well. If covered, these chairs are rust resistant, even if left outside in the winter! However, if you start to see any of bare metal coming through, consider painting the area with a Rustoleum paint to prevent rust in those spots. The sling fabric is a woven plastic mesh and is quite sturdy. These chairs are a bit on the small side, but for many with smaller patio areas, having a small chair allows a greater number of people to sit at the table.

The Patio Master Sienna Swivel Rocker set is a great chair package, provided you don’t mind assembling the chairs. The provided tools are not the highest quality, so be sure you have a locking wrench and a socket set to get everything together. Assembly takes about one hour for the two sets, assuming you have decent tools at hand. The base is made of powder-coated steel and is balanced pretty well across the chair. The slingback fabric is decent quality, and if not abused, will last for years. If you’ve got heavy-set guests or an unusually large family, the Sienna rocking chairs may not be able to support heavy weights day after day for years. These chairs are among the heavier chairs on this list, and as they don’t stack, fold, or nest, you may want to pick up a furniture cover for them so that the weather doesn’t beat them up too much. The Sienna chairs rock back about 8-10 inches and are quite comfortable for prolonged sitting. However, if you’re looking for a true rocking chair a-la one of the crescent-based wooden chairs common on porches, you’ll want to look elsewhere. But if you want a comfortable swivel chair that has some rocking capability, these chairs are great!

These chairs are basically fairly high end folding chairs, though they are a little bit on the small side. They are comfortable to sit on for a reasonable amount of time without any cushion, and the back has a slight contour which helps when sitting. The frame is made of powder-coated steel and is rust resistant. The armrests are made of plastic. If left out in the rain constantly, they will eventually rust, but occasional water exposure will not harm the frame or the fabric. The fabric is a vinyl-like poly and is quite comfortable and attractive. The chairs are lightweight and fold up for storage (and do a decent job of staying folded up), so there’s no real need to leave them exposed to heavy rains for a long period of time.
