We wish these put out a bit more heat where it is needed. Heat generally escapes up the top, around the reflector, and largely bypasses those surrounding the unit. The heater does give some heat to those within about 6’ of the unit, but beyond that, users don’t feel much. (Note: the Amazon.com description mentions something about a 15’ radius, but they definitely mean diameter. The seller miss-typed something in their description, which could cause significant confusion. We wish they would heat in a 15’ radius, they would be much more useful!)

The heater fits a standard propane tank, 20lb unit, not included. Simply attach the tank through the large door in the bottom of the heater, turn the ignition past the pilot, hold the knob in for a bit, and push the button. The flames should fire off, and you can then adjust the heat as needed. A typical propane tank will last for 8-10 hours, depending on the heat output chosen. The propane tank hides away in the bottom of the unit, which is a nice design, adds weight where needed, and works well.
