Budget Pick Best Saucer Tree Swing
Our choice of the best budget pick is the tree swing by Sorbus. With a simple webbed netting, 220-pound weight capacity, and 40” diameter, it’s well worth the price which is less than half that of comparable swings. It doesn’t have the strength to support lots of weight, but if you figure only a couple of kids will use it at a time, the 220lb weight limit should be plenty.

This saucer tree swing by Royal Oak is a good standard to go by when it comes to tree swings. With a weight capacity of 400 pounds, it is resilient enough to hold multiple kids safely. Commercial grade rope, a steel frame, and 600D oxford fabric ensure that this saucer tree swing will hold up even with a few kids playing on it.
With step-by-step picture instructions, the Royal Oak swing is relatively easy to set up. In addition, it can be easily taken down for storage in the winter, which leads us to our next point.
Even this swing, which is marketed as weather resistant, is going to face significant wear-and-tear if you leave it out year round. The spinner swing by Sorbus is the first of three webbed netting swings that we’ll look at today. This particular one boasts a 40” diameter similar to Royal Oak’s, but Sorbus also offers a 24” option for those who only want a small swing.
Compared to Royal Oak, this swing can hold considerably less weight – 220 pounds rather than 400 pounds the Royal Oak supports. This is something to keep in mind when it comes to how many kids you could envision playing on it at once, and whether or not any adults will want to relax on it themselves.
The webbed net is certainly more suited for smaller children, and adults probably want more of a hammock or swing chair.
With that being said, a steel tube frame and a 5mm polyethylene rope seat help ensure that this seat provides safe relaxation for the kids.
When it comes to installation, this is also another simple and easy to install swing just like Royal Oak’s. The top of each rope has a steel ring which can connect to a suspension rope – up to 63” long.
Webbed netting is prone to the elements, and will gradually wear and tear. Water is the main concern, speeding up corrosion and rust.
It’s best to keep this away from sprinklers and take it down during periods of extended rain if you want to ensure its longevity for years.
The Bottom Line
This spinner swing by Sorbus is quick to assemble, easy to take down, and overall serves its function is a simple tree swing for children and adults alike.
As it is the least expensive option on our list, it’s great as a budget option. Just be sure that the low weight limit is sufficient for your needs now and in the future.

The M&M Sales Web Riderz tree swing is a decent middle-of-the-road webbed swing in terms of price, functionality, and longevity.

The Details
The M&M Sales tree swing has good specs, including a very high 600lb weight limit. The swing seems to be good enough, though several reviewers on Amazon have noted issues with their swing once they’ve started to use it.
While being safety rated for up to 600 pounds, there are a number of reviews on Amazon (with pictures) that state that the Web Riderz Outdoor Swing n’ Spin has broken only after mild use in less than a year. They vary from the frame snapping in half to the rope breaking.
Another concern is rust – despite the galvanized steel frame tube, rust and corrosion seems to be a commonplace. This could be due to user error, such as placing it where garden irrigation can hit it, or leaving it out during harsher months. But the possibility of this being an inherent design flaw cannot be ruled out.
On the positive side, this does come fully assembled, so there is less work to do when it arrives.
The full one year warranty should help ensure a replacement if anything does go awry in the first year, and by registering online, you can bump that up to two years. With that being said, if this were to break with a child on it, the warranty would be moot as you would likely not want another.
The Bottom Line
Considering the price M&M are asking for their simple webbed swing, and the array of various safety concerns with this swing, it’s probably better to look elsewhere. The Sorbus Spinner Swing we reviewed prior, or the Play Platoon we’ll look at next, are likely both better choices if you are definitely set on a webbed tree swing.

The Details
The third and final webbed swing that we are reviewing is from Play Platoon. Play Platoon offers a one year warranty on all of their products, and up to 2 years if you register it with them online, so should you encounter any problems with your swing, it will be easier to get them replaced with Play Platoon than other sellers who just offer simple manufacturer warranties.
With that said, this is a solid, all-around well-built swing. At just 24 inches in diameter, its best for one child. Even with a smaller diameter, it’s rated to hold up to 400 pounds of weight, so it’s fully capable of handling adults.
It comes fully assembled with hanging instructions, allowing minimal downtime from the time it arrives to the time of the first swing.
While it includes two carabiners, a hanging kit will be necessary to purchase necessary unless you already have a rope or something comparable at your house.
The Bottom Line
The Play Platoon saucer swing is the best swing on the list if you’re sure that only one child will be using it at a time. Despite its 400-pound weight capacity, its only 24 inches in diameter – meaning that it probably won’t fit more than one child unless they really squeezed in.
It gets the job done while being well built, and any defects should be easily handled by Play Platoon’s generous warranty policy when compared to other online swing sellers.

If you have a few children, or your kids have their friends over a lot, then a larger swing might be needed to accommodate everybody all at once so that they don’t have to take turns.
This is where the HearthSong SkyCurve Platform Swing comes into play. It can fit up to 4 kids at once, which is pretty great! The weight limit on this tree swing is 400 pounds. That should be plenty for younger kids, but cautious of too many older kids trying to fit on at once as to create too much strain on the unit, even though it likely has the room for them.
The padding around the outside of the frame allows for kids to dangle their feet over the edge and relax or play comfortably. The seat is made of mesh for additional breathability and comfort, and a steel frame helps to ensure safety and durability. No risk of limbs getting tangled in ropes, which is always a plus.
Assembly is a bit more difficult than other swings we’ve reviewed thus far, which is a negative. Whereas others arrive ready to go or with minimal assembly, this swing will require two adults to put together.
Be sure you consider the dimensions as written — this swing is quite big, and you should be sure you understand how it will fit in your yard. Most probably wouldn’t think the swing would be too big, but it’s sizable! The large size means that if you have younger children – say less than 5 years old – they may feel that they have nothing to hold onto when swinging, and feel unsafe.
Durability may be a concern, as a few have noted that the seat may be prone to ripping or fading after extended use outside. Overall, it’s well constructed, but this is something to keep in mind. As mentioned before, don’t leave the swing out in nasty weather.
The Bottom Line
If you have just one child or your children are still young, this swing might prove to be too large and inefficient for your needs.
However, its perfect if you have more than two children or to accompany them and their friends after school or on the weekend. Just be aware of the actual physical dimensions, and how it’s going to look and function when attached to the tree in your yard.
