The PatioLivingConcepts Umbrella Base 230 is a good umbrella base weight at a very good price. It is a molded resin unit, designed to be filled with sand and positioned under a patio table. The Umbrella Base 230 will hold about 50 lbs of sand, which means it can support a fairly large patio umbrella. Given the weight capacity and price, this is a good cheap umbrella stand. It isn’t the prettiest umbrella base, but it is designed to sit under a table, and will likely not be in view very much. The Abba Patio round steel patio umbrella weight is elegantly simple. It is equipped with two hand-turning locks that provide superior grip to the umbrella pole inserted inside. This umbrella base is designed to handle the typical weight and wind forces found on a 6’-9’ umbrella. This weighted umbrella base is made of powder-coated steel and is painted in a bronze tone. We wish Abba Patio offered black and stainless steel versions of these bases so that users could easily match their base to their patio umbrella, but alas Abba Patio currently only carries these metal umbrella stands in bronze. Should you have a black or white umbrella shaft, you could consider purchasing some enamel paint and painting this base the same color as your umbrella pole. This is obviously impossible for those who have brushed nickel or stainless steel umbrellas (or wood, for that matter!). This patio umbrella base can be used in conjunction with a bistro table, but it is not required (you may want to get a patio umbrella cone in this case). The weight is sufficient to generally support a 6’-9’ umbrella without a table, though if the wind is really blowing, we would suggest closing the umbrella in order to protect it. The Abba Patio outdoor umbrella bases are made up of two parts, the first being the circular umbrella base, and the second being the vertical shaft which bolts to the base from underneath.

This is a cast iron patio umbrella stand that will work well for an umbrella up to around 6’ in diameter. It has a single toggle lock and is capable of securing a reasonably-large umbrella. A table is not required with this umbrella base, but the extra balance found in the combination of an umbrella base and a table is helpful, especially if you’re pushing the umbrella size. The TropiShade Decorative Market Umbrella Base is about 3“ thick, so it has a relatively low profile. You’re unlikely to kick it or bang your feet on it if it is under a table and out of sight. The color is a very dark bronze, with a matte finish. In a pinch, it could be used with a black umbrella pole, but it really is a bit closer to bronze than black. You could always re-paint it with a Rustoleum enamel paint if you want to get it the same color as your umbrella pole.

The 18“ DC America Cast Stone Outdoor Umbrella Stand is capable of supporting a 6’ umbrella, but beyond that, it may run into issues with balance. The 24“ base will support up to a 9’ umbrella. A table is not required with these umbrella bases, but it will help stabilize the umbrella in windy conditions. Two plastic umbrella shaft cuffs are included, one of which is designed to fit properly with 1 3/8“ umbrella shafts, and the other with 1 1/2“ umbrella shafts. These plastic cuffs are failure points on this unit and may be prone to breakage. If they break, contact DC America for replacements. The DC America unit comes in two pieces: the disc base, and the vertical section. The vertical section bolts to the disc base, and the umbrella is installed from there. This low profile umbrella base is a high-quality modern steel base. The square design and two wheels facilitate easy movement of the base and umbrella, however, the wheels mean that this base will likely be useful to those who only want the umbrella without a table; if this is used in conjunction with a table, the wheels become useless. The patio umbrella stand comes in three pieces: the rectangular base, and two separate vertical tubes, each of which bolts to the weighted base. The tubes are different sizes, designed to accommodate either a 1 1/2“ or 1 7/8“ pole. These tubes have two crank bolts, which help supply even more strength to the whole system. These Abba Patio Square Market Umbrella bases with wheels can support up to a 9’ diameter umbrella. The flat steel plate is in direct contact with the ground, so it is possible over time that water may get under the unit and rust it. It would be wise to check from time to time, and if necessary spray paint it with Rustoleum enamel paint to refresh it. This patio umbrella base with wheels is very thin, and will easily go under most furniture pieces if you want to position your umbrella near to a furniture piece.

This market umbrella base weight is sturdy and solid, with a no-nonsense design and multiple fitting options. It is made of concrete cast in a plastic mold and is a simple black umbrella base. These garden umbrella stands come in two pieces: the weighted disc, and the vertical piece to hold the umbrella shaft. Some users have reported problems with the nut and bolt that holds the vertical piece to the weight, and this is a failure point. Additionally, the garden parasol stand is not packaged very well, and users have had issues with damage during shipping. If your umbrella base arrives separated or otherwise damaged, we recommend contacting Trademark Innovations immediately and asking for a replacement. Trying to fix the base is not recommended, as it will likely fall apart again with further use.

It looks a bit like a spaceship in the 1980s version of Battlestar Galactica. While normally we would be fans of a spaceship umbrella weight, we’re not so sure in this case.

We don’t love the look of this patio umbrella base weight, but it certainly works well. The Umbrella Base 230 is designed to be filled with sand. The hardware is made of stainless steel, and the main housing is molded resin. The housing has a screw-cap that can be used to add weighting material. This patio table umbrella stand is available in five colors: beige, black, bronze, green, and white. It is one of the rare white patio umbrella base weights out there. The Umbrella Base 230 can be filled with water, but it may leak, and the cap isn’t really designed for water. If turned on end, water will almost certainly leak through the cap. But, while it’s resting flat, water may work fine. Regardless, we would suggest using sand as the weight material. When you’re filling the base with sand, consider purchasing a funnel or even using some cardboard rolled up to enable the sand to easily go into the hole properly. This base for a garden umbrella will hold up to a 9’ parasol and is pretty sturdy. It is not as wide as some of the other bases on this list, and it must be used in conjunction with a table for additional stability. The hole in this table umbrella base does not go all the way through, so this cannot be placed on top of an additional base.
