1. Abba Patio 10-Feet Rectangular Offset Cantilever Umbrella with Cross Base and Storage Cover
Abba Patio is one of our favorite manufacturers of outdoor equipment, and they consistently do a great job with their outdoor products. The 10’ x 10’ Rectangular Offset Umbrella is yet another fantastic cantilever umbrella by Abba Patio, and it will look gorgeous on your patio or in the garden! With a large 10’ x 10’ square canopy, articulating tilt and rotate functionality, and high-quality materials throughout, the Abba Patio is an excellent choice for a rectangular cantilever umbrella.

This Abba Patio umbrella currently only comes in one color, the beige shown here. Fortunately, the color is quite attractive, and given that it’s made of spun polyester (see our umbrella fabric article for information), it should last a while outside. The polyester is 240g in thickness, which is fairly good, and is UV resistant and fade resistant. Spun Polyester is generally not as good as Sunbrella, but as long as it’s properly covered when not in use, this canvas should last a while. The pole and ribs are made of heavy-duty aluminum and are powder-coated for protection from the elements. These units should not rust. The powder coat is an antique bronze, which is fine though we prefer black! The ribs are also made of aluminum, which is a good material for umbrella ribs. Fiberglass is better, though more expensive; aluminum should be fine for an umbrella of this type. Be sure you shut the umbrella if the wind kicks up, as strong wind gusts will certainly damage the umbrella. What about tilt, will the Abba patio keep the sun out of your eyes? The answer is yes! the tilt functionality is quite nice on this umbrella, and there are six different options for tilt. You can dial in the angle of the Abba Patio rectangular umbrella to get the perfect amount of shade. However, please note that the umbrella does not rotate; you can rotate it only if you rotate the base.
Square Cantilever Patio Umbrella Base
Ensuring your offset umbrella is properly weighted is extremely important, as these umbrellas are prone to toppling and breaking if they are not secured. The Abba Patio 10’ Cantilever umbrella comes with a metal cross base with 4 holes pre-drilled for easy deck or concrete patio mounting. If you’re mounting to a deck or concrete patio, you can just drill lag bolts into the base material, and your umbrella will stay put! If, however, you want to place the umbrella on the patio without bolting it or have a paver patio, you’ll probably need to purchase a cantilever umbrella base weight. The TrueShade Plus 10’ Rectangular Offset Umbrella is another excellent square 10’ patio umbrella that will shade a large area, and look great doing it! Made of powder coated aluminum with 8 steel ribs and a solution-dyed polyester canopy, this offset umbrella will bring the style to your patio for years to come, at a great price point. Also included in this package is an offset umbrella cover and both a metal cross base and four weighted base vessels! No need to purchase anything else to get this umbrella going (except some sand or dirt to weight the base down).

The TrueShade Plus 10’ square offset umbrella is extremely elegant, with an attractive brown canvas and antique bronze powder coated frame. This umbrella makes a modern, statuesque statement on the patio or in the garden. The canvas is made of solution-dyed polyester (see our umbrella fabric article for more information), and us UV, stain, and fade resistant. Sorara, the makers of the TrueShade Plus umbrella, covers this fabric under a 2-year warranty, which is a great plus. Like all outdoor fabrics, it’s always wise to cover these when not in use, as the cover will only increase the usable lifespan of these (expensive!) umbrellas. The frame of this unit is made of powder-coated aluminum using the Tiger DRYLAC powder coat system. The post will not rust. The ribs are made of steel, which is a hardy rib material, but not as good as fiberglass or aluminum. We suggest closing this umbrella up when the weather gets windy! The TrueShade Plus has a tilt functionality that works well and will provide shade as needed. It does not offer a rotation option unless you rotate the entire base and umbrella.
Rectangular Offset Umbrella Base
One of the big bonuses of this umbrella is that it comes with both a standard metal cross base and a 4 piece cantilever umbrella base weight. If you are not planning on bolting your cantilever umbrella down, typically you would need to purchase a separate base that can cost $65+. This sort of base is included with the TrueShade Plus, and is designed for use specifically with the TrueShade umbrella. So there are no worries about compatibility with this set!

The Domi Outdoor living rectangular offset umbrella is a large, attractive umbrella capable of shading a large table and chairs, and doing so in a stylish way. With tilt and rotate functionality, this umbrella can be tweaked to shade in the exact position you want! The canvas fabric is made of 100% polyester at 240gsm thickness. This thickness is good, and is comparable to the Abba Patio umbrella above, however that umbrella is made of spun polyester as opposed to straight polyester. How long will the canvas last? Well, it will last quite a while if you take care of it! If you use a cover to protect your canvas when not in use, the cover will only increase the usable life of the outdoor equipment. The sun beats on all outdoor fabrics, and rain will slowly damage even the best fabrics, so it’s wise to use a cover to keep the umbrella looking as good as possible! See here for offset umbrella covers. The pole is made of sturdy aluminum, and is powder coated for rust protection. Domi Outdoor Living chose an antique bronze color for the pole, which looks better with the tan and red colors than with the gray color. The ribs are made of steel, and are oval shaped. Steel is a fairly good patio umbrella rib material, though aluminum and fiberglass are preferred. As long as you’re careful to shut this umbrella if the winds start to gust over 10mph, the steel ribs should be fine here. The rib pockets of the Domi Outdoor Living umbrella are reinforced for extra strength at the points wear commonly occurs, which is a nice extra. The most unique feature of this square cantilever umbrella is the ability to not only tilt this umbrella but to rotate it 360’. Depending on your circumstances, a rotation system may be invaluable, and the other umbrellas on this list don’t offer rotation unless one picks up the entire base and rotates it – not exactly ideal.

The Domi Outdoor living comes with a standard metal cross base like most cantilever umbrellas do. This is ideal for anchoring your cantilever umbrella to a deck or a concrete patio. The Abba Patio Easy Open 10’ Rectangular offset umbrella looks quite similar to the above Abba Patio 10’ Rectangular offset umbrella, but there are a few significant differences. We wish they had made the names a little bit clearer! This umbrella comes in three fabric options, which allows for some styling potential. It also features an easy-open system with infinite tilt variety! You can adjust the umbrella to the exact position you want for maximum sun protection.

The Easy Open umbrella is slightly smaller and shorter than the 10’ Abba Patio umbrella discussed above, though Abba Patio still considers both 10’ rectangular umbrellas. The canvas won’t cover quite as large of an area as the other umbrellas on this list. This umbrella line is made with the same fabric as the previous Abba Patio umbrella, which is quite high quality. Spun Polyester is a nice, attractive material, and the 240gsm canvas is high quality and elegant. It is water resistant, fade resistant, and UV-resistant. Additionally, Abba Patio includes a protective cover, which we strongly suggest you use when your umbrella is closed. The cover will help keep the umbrella in great shape! The pole of this unit is made of powder-coated aluminum, in an antique bronze color, and is of high quality. The ribs are also made of powder-coated aluminum, which is one of the best choices for patio umbrella ribs. Still, we suggest you close the umbrella when the wind starts to gust, as the wind will frequently damage an umbrella! This umbrella shines with its infinite tilt functionality. You can adjust the tilt amount to any degree you want, and lock it into place. The tilt is easy to use, and is a great boon for those that love tilt umbrellas. Unfortunately, this umbrella does not rotate unless you spin it in its base. Be gentle with the cranking mechanism, and be sure you don’t crank it up too much. The crank is prone to failure on these units, and getting a replacement can be a pain. Also, you’ll have to install it yourself, and who wants to do that?
Umbrella Base Weight
Abba Patio only includes with this umbrella the metal cross base commonly seen on cantilever umbrellas. If you want to mount on anything but concrete or wood, you’ll need to use a different mounting process, or purchase a weighted base. Be sure to consider your mounting circumstances before you buy your umbrella, as if you decide to wait to get a base, your umbrella will likely blow over and get damaged.

Conclusion: Best Offset Rectangular Umbrella
After looking at these umbrellas, it is clear that the two best choices are the Abba Patio 10’ Rectangular umbrella , and the TrueShade Plus 10’ rectangular cantilever umbrella. Both of these luxury patio umbrellas are well made, with high-quality materials and solid functionality. The TrueShade has the advantage of including a weighted base, while the Abba Patio does not. We like the overall height of the Abba Patio a little bit more, as the 7’ 3“ canopy brim height is more comfortable to walk under than the 6’7 on the TrueShade. However, either of these is an excellent patio umbrella, and buyers won’t go wrong with either one!
