Classic Accessories uses their Gardelle One fabric for the Ravenna line, which consists of an attractive woven, UV-stabilized polyester fabric outer layer, attached to a laminated inner layer that is designed to be essentially waterproof, and soft against your patio umbrella.

The zipper runs a little more than halfway up the Ravenna patio umbrella cover. There are reinforced handles on this cover designed to make placing the cover on your umbrella easy, though many will find that they will need a stick, broom handle, or some other long object to place the cover on their umbrella, especially if it is a tall umbrella. This is the biggest notable misstep in the Ravenna cover package, relative to the other patio umbrella covers on our list. The Ravenna covers include mesh air vents, which are built into essentially upside-down pockets, with the vented fabric on the inside of the pocket. It is very difficult for water to get into these pockets, but theoretically, it could happen. Some who have solar panels or other final caps on their patio umbrellas may wonder if the solar panel will fit inside this cover. If your solar panel bends down as you close your cover, it will probably still fit inside this umbrella cover, but if it stays wide open even when you fold up your umbrella, it may need to be removed before putting the cover on. Of course, if you have a solar umbrella and you cover it, it’s not going to collect sun! The lifetime warranty on the Ravenna line of covers is a huge advantage over other covers. You know these are built to last. Of course, the warranty is on the cover, not on the umbrella being covered! It is relatively inexpensive, and is available in two color options, though neither is as nice as the Ravenna’s color. The cover is made of a tarp-like polyethylene material that doesn’t look beautiful but is waterproof, which is great.

The Abba Patio line of patio umbrella covers are fairly effective covers priced at a good level, and it features a waterproof polyethylene fabric, which is a big plus. The fabric is essentially tarp fabric and is not beautiful, but it will do a good job protecting your beautiful umbrella canvas underneath!

The zipper on the Abba Patio Umbrella Cover goes almost all the way to the top of the cover and includes a string that allows the zipper to be easily pulled down, even if its all the way in the opened position. Some have found that the zipper doesn’t work all that well, and if something on this market umbrella cover was to fail, it will be the zipper. The Abba Patio cover features a fold-up rod included, that allows users to easily install the cover on their umbrella, and remove it. This is a nice extra, though many may find that a broom handle is more convenient, and more easily found during those times when you’re looking to put the cover on! There is no cinch or buckle on the bottom of the cover, which seems like a significant omission on Abba Patio’s part. You could tie a string around the bottom area to help hold it closed. That is a bit awkward, but it’s probably your best bet. A bungee cord or other mechanism could also be used to hold everything tight there.

The larger size of the Duck Covers market umbrella cover will fit up to an 11’ umbrella with room to spare, so those with larger umbrellas should choose this cover. The bottom of the Duck Covers patio umbrella cover has an elastic cinch that helps hold everything together, which is a nice extra that is lacking on the Abba Patio cover. These umbrella covers are protected under a one year warranty, which is nice, though given these covers are priced pretty close to the Classic Accessories Ravenna covers, a 1-year warranty is pretty paltry compared to the lifetime warranty Classic Accessories offers!
