The Weathercraft Designers Choice Pressure Treated Pine Adirondack Chair is a very nice, durable piece of outdoor furniture. These unpainted Adirondack chairs are made of pressure treated pine, similar to the materials commonly used for decks and porches, and this material is one of the best out there for durability in an outdoor environment.

Pressure treated pine is generally not the cheapest material available, and consequently, these chairs are not particularly inexpensive. However, they should be able to last a very long time and have the classic Adirondack chair design so frequently desired by today’s discerning buyers. All nuts, bolts, and fasteners are hot-dipped galvanized, and all nails are stainless steel, for a superior finish. The Weathercraft chairs come unfinished and can be painted or stained, or left in their natural (but treated) state. The pressure treated pine will weather to a silvery gray, but less than kiln-dried pine would weather. These chairs can be painted or stained with exterior-grade covering materials. Some assembly is required, though assembly is not terribly difficult, and can be completed in under a half hour.

The Shine Company Marine Adirondack chair is an attractive yellow cedar unfinished Adirondack chair, crafted with elegance and simplicity. The stepped scallop design on the back of the chair is nice, and the overall look is fairly minimal. The yellow cedar material these chairs are constructed with is durable, insect resistant, rot resistant, and smells nice! The wood arrives unfinished, and this chair is a canvas for your imagination. You can paint these chairs with exterior grade paint, stain them any color imaginable, put a clear coat on them with any sort of gloss, or leave them unfinished to let them weather over the seasons. The hardware on these chairs is rust resistant, and they should be capable of withstanding rain, wind, and much of what Mother Nature sends out, however, we would suggest you take these in or cover them during the winter. Assembly is required on these chairs, though the assembly is not difficult and should be completed in an hour or so, assuming at least some experience in furniture assembly.

The cedar wood on the Leigh County unpainted cedar Adirondack chair is fairly clear, which is a nice touch for a chair in this price range. There are knots, but less so than on some of the other models on our list. The Leigh County Adirondack chair arrives unfinished and can be stained, painted, or left to weather in its natural state. All three options can be beautiful, and these chairs can really look great with the right finish. The hardware on these units is rustproof, and these are ok to be left out in the elements, though the finishes will last longer if covered. Certainly, during the winter, these should be taken inside or otherwise covered for protection. The Leigh County Adirondack chair must be assembled, though assembly is fairly straightforward, and should not take a great deal of time.

The Northern Tool and Equipment set of unpainted Adirondack chairs are an interesting product at a great price. They are rather small, though! By comparing the size of these to some of the other chairs on our list, you can immediately see that these chairs are for small or medium-sized people only. Larger people will have a difficult time sitting in these chairs. If you are on the smaller side, however, they are a very nice choice. The fir wood is beautiful, and takes stain or paint very nicely. Fir is a very hardy outdoor wood and is commonly used in porches and decks as flooring. The hardware is rustproof, and these chairs should be able to last outside for most of the year, though we suggest covering them or bringing them inside in the winter, if you’re in an area that gets snow. Assembly is required, though it is not terribly difficult, and once you’ve done one, the other should go together quite rapidly.

The Stonegate Cedar Adirondack Chair is a beautiful, classic take on the design, with a very simple look and some great features. This unit is very basic in design, and its overall stance is toward minimalism. This chair does not fold, nor does it have a contour to the back, though there is a contour to the seat. This chair may not be as comfortable as some of the other seats on our list. However, the arms are quite handsomely made, and are perfect for resting an iced tea upon!

The Stonegate Cedar Adirondack chair is made of Cunninghamia lanceolata Cedar/Fir. The chair arrives unfinished and can be stained, painted, or left to weather in its natural state. This wood looks gorgeous and is durable even when left out in the elements. The fasteners are all rust-resistant, and the chair should be able to handle rain and wind. These unpainted Adirondack chairs arrive unassembled, though they go together fairly quickly using primarily a Philips head screwdriver. Assembly takes about 25 minutes, assuming you have some knowledge of flat pack furniture assembly.
